A new kind of Monopoly

Recently, a new technology startup in Malaysia, Fibre@Home introduced their product to consulting engineers here in Perunding PLA Sdn. Bhd. It is actually an electronic device which takes in the information from other Fibers Companies like TIME, Maxis, Celcom, ASTRO IPTV and TMNET Unifi, and delivers to home customers at a speed of not more than 100Mb per second.

Fiber@Home seems like a unique idea, but it is already implemented in Europe 10 years ago, so basically it is a technology-transfer process. But since Fiber@Home is the only company that use the system, it might create a new form of monopoly where every home owners in Malaysia need to use the Fiber-integrated system.

Pros
1) It is very easy to use and convenient as we only need to login out account in Fiber@Home website and subscribes to channels we like.
2) The speed is very fast(at least as promised).

Cons
1) Additional cost will be added to the subcription fees of internet usage.
2) Who to blame when the system breakdown? (Fiber@Home or the Fiber Companies?)
