1) In 2008 Jun, The price of crude oil reached its peak which is $147. At that time, many analyzers thought the price of crude oil would surpass 200 US dollar when year end. But the price of crude oil fall as the temperature fall. At summer, the temperature and the price of crude oil reached its peak. When winter, the price of crude oil and the temperature fell together.
2) Last year 20 March, Taiwanese voted and welcomed their new new leader, Ma Ying-jeou. Although Ma Ying-jeou's pro-China policy won some cheers, his inability to solve economic crisis caused Taiwanese says,"A bad president has gone, but a dumb president has arrived."
3) Barack Obama is surely the man-to-watch this year. He was chosen as the Person of The Year by TIME magazine last year. He will replace George W Bush as the new president of USA on 20 January 2009. His refusal to intervene the conflict between Gaza and Israel has brought some critics against him. Now, many media have compared Barack Obama to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt ran for president in 1933 by promising a "New Deal" and was a hero in US at that time because he led US out from The Great Depression. Will Barack Obama become the second Roosevelt and solve the economic tsunami or bring us disappointment? only time will tell......
1) This morning, I opened my web browser and typed cnn.com. When I reached the website, I read this headline,"Girl killed, 49 burned after Israeli shelling". I knew this is an expected headline.
2) The conflicts and war between Israel and Gaza is no secret. All major newspaper and websites put the news about the war as their headlines.
3) Meanwhile, thousands of demonstrators marched through London, England to protest Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza.
4) War starts because both sides hate each other. Israeli hate people in Gaza and vice versa.
5) I remembered one buddhist told me that only love can stop hate. Hate itself can't stop hate.
6) Although I am not a Christian, I knew Jesus Christ once said,"Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."
7) If everyone in the world can love their enemy, I believe there will be no war and conflicts anymore.
1)For many years, there are many hybrid cars build by automotive industry in a bid to replace the petrol-powered cars. 2)Among those hybrid cars are hydrogen vehicle, solar vehicle and electric vehicle.
3)The concept of hydrogen-powered cars is quite simple. The hydrogen is reacted with oxygen to produce water and electricity. The electricity produced is used to power an electric motor.

4)The future of electric cars is also very promising because electric engine convert 75 percent of available energy into forward motion, compared with the 20 percent energy conversion rate of gasoline engines.
5)For solar cars, I don't believe the future cars can run entirely on sunlight, but the energy generated from photovoltaic cell can provide additional energy for a hybrid car.
In the January 2009 issue of printed edition PC Magazine, the editor-in-chief announced that the January 2009 issue is the last printed edition of the PC Magazine publication.
From February onwards, PC Magazine will become a 100-percent-digital publication. PC Magazine publication will offer PC Magazine Digital Edition to its subscriber.
Besides that, the Wall Street Journal also offer similar Digital Edition to its subscriber to replace the printed edition.
In Malaysia, www.malaysiakini.com which publish articles online offer subscription of RM15 per month for those who want to read its full articles.
In conclusion, I believe in the future, more and more magazines and newspapers will follow the trend. In fact, this is good for the environment because it don't need the paper so it can save trees.
物极则反,器满则倾 is a chinese proverb. I like this proverb because it
represents the very nature of the universe and our daily life.
The translation of this proverb is thing will be developed to the opposite
side when it exceed its limit.
The most simple and obvious example is we have to eat balanced diet.
If we eat too much food, we will become fat(obesity); if we refuse to
eat food, we will become weak and thin(anorexia nervosa).
The second example is we have to maintain an optimal amount of sleep
everyday(8 hours per day for teenagers and 7 hours per day for adults).
If we exceed the time we sleep, it will affect our circadian rhythms;
If we don't get enough rest or sleep, it will cause mental, emotional and
physical fatigue.
Therefore, we have to keep everything in balance in order to live healthier
and happier.
The term "crisis" in Chinese is called 危机. 危 means dangerous while 机 means opportunity, that is, whenever there is dangerous situation, there is opportunity in it.
In 21st century, we face many crisis or dangerous situation such as global warming, greenhouse effect, water shortage, and energy crisis.
But there are solutions to fix the problems we faced.
Problem: Water Shartage
Solution: Desalination
Explanation: Desalination is a process which convert seawater to freshwater.
Technology: Reverse Osmosis, Membrane Distillation
Problem: Energy Crisis
Solution: Renewable Energy (examples, solar energy, wind power, hydroelectricity and nuclear energy)
Explanation: For solar energy, energy is obtained from photovoltaic cell and heat engine. While wind power is the conversion of wind energy into electricity by using wind turbines. For hydroelectricity, it is electricity generated by hydropower through use of the gravitational force of flowing water.
Conclusion
Without the existence of problem we face like water shortage and depletion of petroleum, there will be no technology such as desalination system and renewable energy. Therefore, we should invent more technologies instead of worrying and fear.
The term mixed-race refers to people whose ancestries come from different races.
I found out that those mixed-races are more excel in their career compare to those whose ancestries come from the same race.
Example of those mixed-race people are Nicol David, Tiger Woods and Barack Obama.
Nicol David
Nicol David is a Chindian ( a chindian is a person of both chinese and indian ancestry) daughter of Ann Marie David and Desmond David. Her father is an Indian Malaysian engineer, and her mother is a retired Chinese Malaysian school teacher. Nicol David is one of the most successful squash player of all time. She won world champion three times and world junior champion twice.
Tiger Woods
Woods was born to Earl and Kultida (Tida) Woods. Earl, a retired United States Army lieutenant colonel and Vietnam War veteran, was of mixed African American (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent) and Native American (25 percent) ancestry. Kultida (nee Punsawad), originally from Thailand, is of mixed Thai (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent), and Dutch (25 percent) ancestry. This makes Woods himself one-quarter Chinese, one-quarter Thai, one-quarter African American, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch.
Woods has won fourteen professional major golf championships, the second highest of any male player, and 65 PGA Tour events, third all time. He has more career major wins and career PGA Tour wins than any other active golfer. He is the youngest player to achieve the career Grand Slam, and the youngest and fastest to win 50 tournaments on tour. Tiger Woods is to golf what Sergey Brin and Larry Page is to search engine.
Barack Obama
Barack Obama was born to Ann Dunham, a white American from Wichita, Kansas of mainly English, Irishand smaller amounts of German descent. Obama's father was Barack Obama, Sr., a Luo(The Luo (also called Jaluo and Joluo) are an ethnic group in Kenya, eastern Uganda, and northern Tanzania.)from Nyang’oma Kogelo, Nyanza Province, Kenya. Perhaps it is too early to judge the achievement of president-elect Barack Obama, but the fact that he is the first black president is undeniable.
Conclusion
Since we know the advantages of mixed-race, we should respect other races.
